Scarf Love

After seeing some of her work on Oh Joy!, I fell head over heals in love with the scarves in Virginia Johnson's collection. Her prints are just the right balance between bold and graceful. If I weren't already handing out all my money for summer show fees and tax payments, I'd easily convince myself that I could afford one of these (or maybe two).

it's ok

Willow, one of Chicago's great little housewares boutiques, is closing their storefront and will start operating solely as a web store at the end of this month. I used to work there so I'm particularly bummed to see it go, but I'm excited for Amy and the freedom that the web store will give her. She's even going to offer same-day messenger delivery to local customers!

I stopped in the store today to say hello and to snag a couple of these wonderful little woodcut sculptures by local artist Sighn. The "its ok" series is a limited edition of 1 million hand cut sculptures. I've been wanting one for a while so when I heard Willow was having an art show featuring his work, I knew I'd have to get some. All of his work is pretty incredible and maybe one day I'll be able to pick up a larger piece.

Sneak Peek

Here's a bit of a sneak peek of some of the new products I'll be launching later this month.

Organization

When we were in New York a few weeks ago, I stopped in the MOMA store in SoHo. Within minutes I had scooped up two of these dare-I-say perfect notebooks. I got one in white and one in yellow. Inside the pages are blank with just "what" and "when" in bold letters on the top corner of the page. I've been needing a planner but I love them so much, I'm afraid I'll never actually use them. For now I'm just enjoying having them around.

Lucky!

I'm so excited to have my silo votives featured on the Chicago page of Lucky's April edition! It was my secret dream to be in Domino (Lucky's sister home magazine until it sadly closed), so seeing my work on the regional page of Lucky is pretty much a dream come true.
