From a Doodle to a Draft

These days I spend most of my time in the ceramic studio building the same pieces over and over again. I actually enjoy the production work, but it's great to take some time to experiment with something new. Today I had a lot of fun working on a one-off piece and I thought it would be interesting to share the sketch and the resulting clay piece. I'm not sure if it will actually survive the next stages (drying, firing, glazing, firing, traveling home). Fingers crossed! At the very least, I think I've already come up with a simplified, more structurally sound version.

I love seeing the translation from your drawing into clay! Hope it gets to the final stages!
