We just got back from two weeks in New York. I go back every two months or so to continue assisting a painter that I worked for when I lived there. We're good friends and my boyfriend Ben comes along with me, so it's definitely more pleasure then work. Being in New York City in mid April is the best. We always spend the last day of the trip wondering why we don't just move there.
I was able to go up to the Park Avenue Armory and check out the SOFA exhibition. It was encouraging and inspiring to see a lot of the work that was represented there. Over the last several months I've been struggling with how I want Up in the Air Somewhere to evolve, and while in New York I had some long talks with people who pushed me in the direction I was a little nervous about going. More to come on that as I am still sorting out how things will move forward. It's a bit of a growth spurt.
